Kendi had been experiencing some Braxton-Hicks contractions off and on throughout the weekend of November 12th/13th/14th. She took it easy the following few days and the cramping subsided. All plans were still in place to head down to Columbus for Uncle Bryce's wedding on November 20th. The new baby's due date was November 30th.
On November 17th at 4am, Kendi awoke with contractions again, but this time, they were coming every 10-12 minutes. At about 7am, they continued at that pace, so we took Thomas to school and drove to the hospital. Both of us were doubtful that our new baby was coming, but wanted to go to the hospital to make sure.
We arrived before 8am and Kendi was checked by the house nurse around 9am. She was about 5cm dilated at that point and definitely in labor. We were checked in and placed in a room. The doctor arrived told us we'd be new parents at some point that morning.
We were blessed with our 2nd healthy baby boy on Wednesday, 11/17/10 at 11:39am! He was 7lbs 12oz and 20.75 inches long. Because Kendi's first labor went so well without an epidural, she elected not to have one again. In short, she is simply amazing, and all of the nurses and doctors agreed.
Lance took to nursing right away, and because the entire process went so well, we came home the next day on 11/18/10. Lance Tyler Harp is here!
